In the 1825 tax list Elijah Elmore appears, along with Thomas and George, in Hitchcock's company. Thomas is listed first, so he might be the oldest. Men appeared on tax lists at 21-years-old, so this should mean that both Thomas and George were this old.

George Elmore

1830

In 1830, Elijah remained in White County.
1 male 50-59 (Elijah Elmore)

1 female 20-29

George Elmore was also listed that year in White County.

A deed recorded in White County, TN, around 1854, book S, page 33, but made on 31 December 1830, indicated a transfer of land between Elijah Elmore and Smith Elmore. Both men were from White County, TN. Smith paid $300 for 200 acres on the Falling Water River in White County. It was part of a 640 acre tract that had previously been conveyed by William P. Anderson and John McIves to John Richerson. The full tract was known as No. 5 of a connnection of ten surveys. The line began on Elijah Elmore's spring branch on the north side of the Falling Water. This land was at the top of survey 5, running 320 poles from the northwest corner to the northeast corner. Witnesses were F. Sullins and George Elmore. It is probable that this Smith Elmore is the person in the 1830 census with Elijah. This land was sold to John Hutchings by Anderson and McIves or McIver on 1 March 1813 as a 640 acre tract. Anderson was of Davidson County, TN. McIves was of Virginia, and Hutchings was of White County. Hutchings paid $312 for the land, and it was originally granted by NC to James Easton, Assignee of Watrow Reed, Patent No. 2702. The full tract lay on both sides of Falling Water. My guess is that John Richerson here was actually John Hutchings because both tracts are designated No. 5 of 10 surveys.

1841

On 20 November 1841, in book M, page 419, there was an indenture between George Elmore and John Bussell and John Howell, all of White County, concerning a promissory note for $120 made payable to John Pennington and Sarah Dyer, guardian to the minor heirs of John Dyer. Elmore, wanting to indemnify Howell and Bussell, gave them a lein on 50 acres on the south of Glade Creek. It was the land where George Elmore lived. It bordered two tracts of John Howell, one 53 acres and one 150 acres. It followed the calls of a deed made by Adam and James Massey to George Elmore. Animals and furniture were also incuded. The court understood that Howell and Bussell would have to pay the note and would then advertise the property at four public places before the day of sale. If it brought more than the $120, Elmore would receive a refund.

1842

On 24 December 1842, in book N, page 311, Travis Elmore sold to William Nash, for $500, 138 acres in the eighth district of White County on the Falling Water. It began on the southeast corner of a 640 acre tract sold by William P. Anderson and John McIves to John Hutchins. It appears that the land was on both sides of the river. Witnesses were Hiram and Cantrell Bowman.

1850

In 1849, Elijah died as shown in the 1850 Mortality Schedule. He was a widower at the time of death. However, George was still in White County, District 7.

J.A. Elmore was also in District 7, Putnam County, in 1860. This is likely George's son, John A., who some say is named John Allen Elmore. With G.W. Elmore having a child named Allen Elmore and J.A. having a child named John Allen Elmore, would this indicate some connection to John Allen Dunn, particularly because his Elizabeth, likely Smith's wife, was living with Allen Dunn's widow, Catherine, in 1860?
